Phototherapy

A session full body phototherapy may last only 5 a 10 minutes. For people with moderate to severe vitiligo, dermatologists can recommend two or three sessions per week.

Research shows that there are few side effects of phototherapy, but side effects include itching or skin irritation and a reaction similar to sunburn.

Home device options

There are currently a variety of devices on the market, but many have not been rigorously tested and may not approved by the Food and Drug Administration of the United States (FDA). It has been shown that FDA approved devices are safe and effective for use at home by patients Y, as usual, requieren una receta médica.

laser treatment

The excimer laser is a highly focused beam of UVB light. Dermatologists focus the laser directly on the illuminated areas of the skin using a wand type device. UVB light can stimulate skin repigmentation in, restoring color to white spots.

This procedure is painless and can be administered in a physician's office within half an hour. As usual, several sessions are required to achieve the desired results, and dermatologists can suggest sessions twice a week for four to six months before determining whether additional treatment is required.

You can expect to return to work or continue their daily activities after treatment with excimer.
